I’ve finally learned that if I keep an eye on local classified ads, I can reliably keep my inventory stocked without having to pay the exorbitant cost of shipping these heavy instruments. This latest piano came to me from a fellow just up the road in Lancaster, OH. He told me he’d acquired it a few years earlier from another player out in Colorado.
The piano is mostly playable but with sluggish, uneven action and a broken tine. Like my other pianos from the previous year, many of the keys have deep crazing and the white key tops will need to be replaced. Also like the 1976s, the felt that was typically installed on the key pedestals was instead applied to the hammer cams. This felt will need to be removed in order to install Miracle Mod bumps.
