Like the last 1974 that came through my shop, this piano is already in pretty good condition. A previous owner did a decent job restoring the cabinet and everything inside, though worn out, is relatively clean and intact. I’m not certain whether the action components are original but the consumables – tone bar grommets, damper felts, etc. – are beyond their service life.
I’ll be installing a Miracle Mod, replacing the tone bar mounting hardware and damper felts and leveling the rather haphazard keys. The hammer tips do not appear to have seen much use and will probably stay put.
